Must See Hollywood Films In 2014

Here is a list of Hollywood films that you must catch. Some of them have already come to the theatres and left but since when does that stop anybody from catching a good flick on TV? That is what cable TV services like Charter are there for. So here take a look see at some of the cinematic glory of this year.

  • Robocop

Another movie from this much loved franchise, Robocop was one of the fiercely awaited remakes this year, carrying a bi burden of expectations given the fact that the 1980s film is supposed to be the one of the best films in the franchise. However, for those who already know of the director Jose Padilha’s meaty track record, the Robocop remake might just exceed expectations and that’s what it certainly did, raking in heft collections at the box office.

  • Noah

A movie directed by Darren Aronofsky and with Russell Crowe, Anthony Hopkins, Emma Watson and Jennifer Connelly in the cast…how could anyone not anticipate this? This biblical epic certainly had everyone on the edge of their seats. The movie is a complete Aronofsky spectacle, with trademark looming grandeur and dark beauty.

  • Need For Speed

Usually films based on videogame franchises head straight for box office doom. However, the fate of Need For Speed has generally been different than most. Also, the fact that it stars Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul as a street racer with a mission makes the prospect even more exciting. The scriptwriter has also written the screenplays for both Oceans’ Eleven and Ocean’s Twelve movies.

  • Muppets Most Wanted

The pressure behind this film is enormous, given the thumping success of the Muppets movie in 2011. This time you watch the Muppets gallivanting across Europe while an evil conspiracy is been hatched by a mastermind. There is Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell and Tina Fey in the movie, so o watch it on Charter if you haven’t already!

  • Gone Girl

David Fincher’s name alone should be enough to send one running to the theatres. Based on Gillian Flynn’s hugely successful novel, this thriller has Ben Affleck in the lead role of Nick Dunne. Flynn has written the screenplay as well. There’s Rosamund Pike and Neil Patrick Harris in the other roles.

  • 22 Jump Street

This comedy caper sequel has just released in the theatres. The first one, 21 Jump Street with a cameo by Johnny Depp, was a hit at the box office. The second in the sequence starring Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill again, is bound to be a hit again.

  • Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Who would have thought that Captain America, arguably one of the least exciting superheroes, could come up with such a brilliant film? As a bonus, there is Robert Redford at the head of S.H.I.E.L.D along with the usual suspects of Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Samuel Jackson as Fury. This movie is a real redemption for the earlier Captain America show.

  • X-Men: Days of Future Past

One of the most eagerly awaited films of the entire year; fans are now divided over their opinions of this latest one. While some opine that it is the best X-Men movie, an arguably larger group swear by X-Men: First Class. Whatever be the verdict, don’t miss out Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Ian Mckellen and Patrick Stewart all burning up the screen along with Jennifer Lawrence.
